I used to joke that I was the Queen of the Tabloids, but now I guess I can say I\u2019m the Queen of Social Media AI!\u201d<ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She added: \u201cSeriously, though, even though I\u2019m still healin\u2019, I\u2019m still workin\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parton also told the outlet that she was working alongside various companies to create \u201cavatar performances\u201d in order to bring fans new experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She did not expand any further, as the discussions are still in the \u201cearly stages of development\u201d.<ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Should Parton go down the avatar route, she would join several artists who have used the digital technology, which has allowed artists both living and dead to craft lucrative shows and tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.yimg.com\/lo\/mysterio\/api\/37c88b07ee67b46a9cdcd9a9b8c4a30066efeaf0130c7336d795f680b2ef112b\/lightyear_networkapi\/resizefill_w808_h539%3Bquality_80%3Bformat_webp\/https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.zenfs.com%2Fen%2Feuronews_us_news_articles_566%2F9d4272424ffa0ef677731ee73bf2e6b6.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Michael Jackson, Elvis and Tupac Shakur to Gorillaz and ABBA, hologram concerts are a growing trend. They feature \u201cPepper\u2019s ghost\u201d forms of performers \u2013 named after the illusion technique created by the English scientist John Henry Pepper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pepper popularised the effect during a 1862 Christmas Eve theatrical production of Charles Dickens\u2019 \u201cThe Haunted Man and the Ghost\u2019s Bargain\u201d. The illusion was a hit and was then used in carnival sideshows, cinemas and amusement parks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first time it was used for concerts was in 2006 for the Grammy Awards, when Pepper\u2019s ghost technique was employed to project Madonna with the virtual band members Gorillaz onto the stage. Since then, several acts have used the technology, with the most elaborate being the ongoing concert attraction ABBA Voyage, which uses Pepper\u2019s ghost combined with digital projection and motion-capture technology.<ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even politicians have taken to using the technology, with Narenda Modi projected at 88 locations across India in 2014 and then-French Presidential candidate Jean-Luc M\u00e9lanchon giving a speech in 2017 at a campaign event in Aubervilliers he wasn\u2019t physically at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently, it was announced that an AI avatar of Ozzy Osbourne was in the works. However, this was met with backlash from fans who described the stunt as a \u201ccash grab\u201d and a \u201cheresy\u201d \u2013 criticism to which the rocker\u2019s widow Sharon Osbourne responded\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She told critics she \u201cdoesn\u2019t need your fucking money\u201d and that the Prince of Darkness would have been supportive of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor somebody to turn around to me and say I\u2019m doing a cash grab? I know my husband,\u201d she said. \u201cMy husband would say to me over and over, \u2018After I go, how long do you think I\u2019ll be remembered?&#8217;\u201d<ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dolly Parton\u2019s health update comes after she rerecorded her 1977 hit song \u2018Light of a Clear Blue Morning\u2019 earlier this year alongside fellow artists Lainey Wilson, Miley Cyrus, Queen Latifah and Reba McEntire.
