Barely five feet tall. Her silver hair was twisted into a loose bun, and a pair of oversized glasses sat crooked on her nose. class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pole bent violently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Evelyn&#8217;s feet left the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her entire body launched upward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For one terrifying second, she disappeared above the bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then the stadium class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biggest, happiest laugh anyone in that stadium had ever heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The teenagers were screaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The coach was frozen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parents were standing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone shouted, \u201cSHE DID IT!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Evelyn wasn&#8217;t looking at them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was looking at the old man in the wheelchair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was crying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Evelyn slowly stood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then she walked
